Welcome to the forum Lemony! I personally cannot answer your questions but there are some very knowledgeable women on here and I am sure they will be along later to give you some answers. We are all in different time zones here - just so you know - and you might have to wait until the others on the other side of the world wake up!

Hi lemony, just want to say welcome.
I have neither the experience/knowledge to answer your question, but if it were me & it's true what the professor suggests, that at sixty I should still be a candidate for Hrt and taking it for 5 years would bring my bone density back into the normal range, then I'd probably be very tempted to follow his advice.

Hi Lemony
A big welcome from me too.
I've always opted for "quality over quantity" and if the Prof is who I think you are referring to, he really seems to know his stuff. I don't know him personally, but others certainly have a very high opinion of him. So I would definitely give the HRT a try. Of coure you may still have the prog intolerance problem (as I do), but now you know about Utrogestan hopefully you shouldn't have to suffer that problem anymore.

well at the end of the day your the one taking the "risk" not your gp. Personally I would prefer the risk of the hrt rather than the bone drug risks. Ask your gp on what basis and research does she base her opinions.
a 25 patch is enough for bone protection i believe.

Or you could do as I go and pay privately too see nick pansy or prof studd just to have him writs to your gp and advise them to prescribe the patch. X
