Hi, I've been dipping in and out for the past few days and decided to take the plunge. I'm also a member of the 'other-side' but am going to delete my membership. I couldn't believe it when I found out Susan had been deleted. She had been such a great help to me and so many others - I couldn't see what she had done wrong. Miffed that I can't look back on her previous posts to me too. It's not the same on there anymore. I started on hrt a couple of months ago. Femseven conti to begin with, changed last week to Femoston Conti due to skin irritated from the patches. I'm quite quiet, will read all the posts and occassionally chip in Shimmy x

Hi Shimmy Yes it is a bizarre world t'other place. We now actually have loads of women on here with their own experiences of going through peri- menopause and post menopause so I am sure if you have any questions and put them up in the Main menopause bit, members will be along to do their best. I am still a bit shell shocked at being deleted so every now and again I might go into rant mode I think I went wrong (if you can call it going wrong) by suggesting there should be a fair, equitable and transparent system for deleting members, rather than a Stalinest State approach. Either the three warnings and you are out or some sort of system of infractions. Hush ma mouth for having suggested something fair. Where you one of the ladies that was asking about VA ? You don't have to say who you were, but I sort of left t'other place mid-sentence so to speak xxxx

Thank you Susan & Jacks.
No Susan, I don't suffer from VA. I had the problem with my doctor not prescribing hrt due to my mum's breast cancer.
Well I couldn't see anything wrong in what you said and thought you and the others where treated shabbily

Hi Lovedovey, Yes I did get an email from. I was half expecting to be deleted as I was dipping into this site. Makes you wonder how safe MM is.

hi again Shimmey Sadly not very safe, pretty certain they read pms and possibly delete them if they can see you haven't got around to reading them. A sorry state of affairs. Don't know if we chatted or not, normally one of the things that it's relevant to point out if someone has BC in their family is if possible to find out what kind as it is only one of the two sorts that actually precludes you from having HRT. The real problem with this though is that of course it is a very sensitive subject to broach with a close family member and that is a huge dilemma for many women. Some women's menopause is also so bad that they still choose to take a low dose despite the fact that they have a family member with it and if they can get the medic to actually prescribe. Trouble is a lot of them are just looking for a reason not to prescribe I imagine they let out a sign of relief if someone mentions some kind of contraindications as they then have what they feel is a bonfide reason not too. xxxx

Their normal reasons for denying hrt - raised blood pressure, irregular bleeding ( beats me why as a scan would show anything nasty) anyone in the vincinity of distant relative with previous cancer, porphyria, fibroids ( again nonsensical why not just offer surgery for fibroids). I have in my possession Management of the Menopause by The British Menopause Society. The NHS have a protocol and you have to outwit them to get treatment. Basically if they swouldn't castrate a man to improve his health they shouldn't be depriving women of their hormones. Jacks

Susan, We did talk on mm and you sent me a couple of pm's too. Through sending away for my mum's death cert, I found out my mum's breast cancer was non-hodgkins of the breast and not a hormone related cancer. I asked to see a gynae who was happy for me to take hrt. Tried femseven conti but had irritation and now on femoston conti(day 6).
Thank you, Bellaciao

Thank you, Bellaciao Hi Shimmy My addled brain with all what had been going on is having trouble placing people. I think I need a kind of list of who is who, in my new cyber world. Bottom line is that I am very glad you are sorted. I do wonder a bit about all this referring to relatives as a way of deciding who can have what, I know some things are hereditary but in my case I am an only child so is my Dad and my late Mum had three brothers. So in a case like mine I can put my hand on my heart and say i have no Sisters or Aunties with it. But then that is because I haven't got any! I might actually be as much as risk as others with Sisters and Aunties. It all seems a bit bonkers really, and not at all scientific, unless I am completely missing the point. xxxx

Hi Shimmy
Good to see you here. I was another one booted off MM last week - mainly for questioning the gender of the mod, as far as I can see. I haven't had any contact from anyone there - my account was just de-activated.
You will find that this is a very different, and much happier place.

Thank you Gelis, It is such a shame, MM should be a place where you go for help(it helped me) and be able to discuss subjects without fear of being put down. It would be a boring world if we all had the same views. I just felt uncomfortable staying there, after the way some of you were treated.

I was part of the same 'boot off' as Gelis. It seems to go in phases over there. Think she managed to get five of us that day ! xxxx
