I get so bloody annoyed. I search for decent thyroid books and what do I find? the great list of books with quack diets, quack causes of thyroid disease and general idiocy. Yesterday I read that according to Christine Northrup thyroid disease is caused by self hatred -gee and I thought it was genetics to her. According to this woman vaginal dryness can be cured by visualising a pink moist vagina and she gets this nonsense published. I wondered why thyroid books were filled with nonsense and it dawned on me that usually sufferers of thyroid disorders are women and prime targets for the quackery industry! Jacks

Hi Jacks One of the best Thyroid books that I have read which keeps it fairly simple but packed with useful info is by Dr John Briffa. It is found in chemists and costs around £5.00 so one of the cheapest. It explains it all properly and also tells you which vitamins etc to take to help. This may not be comprehensive enough for what you are looking for but I found it very useful. Also Thyroid UK is a very helpful website where you can ask anything and lots of experts around to tell you the answers. Hi Sweetpea Thanks for that - I'm really looking for heavy duty books - checked out medical department in foyles but the Endoctrinology department only had diabetes and these are books written for doctors and it is hard to find something sensible about Hashimoto. I do take selenium. Jacks
