Just want to say a big 'hello' to you all. I've also 'come across from the other side'- so glad to have read about this site before the link was removed. Joined straight away, but hadn't had the chance to post until today.
I'm 50, been on hrt since Feb 2011, on 4th type, now use Estradot patches (75 mcg) and Utrogestan capsules (200 mcg vaginally) for 12 days each month.
Huge 'thank you' to Robyn for starting this & also to the ladies who'd posted their experiences about Utrogestan, (hope you're all here!) as I'd never have been able to persuade my GP to prescribe it without your help. ♡

Hi Stumpy- Serena. Didn't post very often. When I joined there was a big debate about whether members with anxiety should post in another (mental health) forum. I felt rather embarrassed as I'd introduced myself as someone whose biggest problem so far in peri seemed to be anxiety. Pointing this out to E**a wasn't received too well, so I ended up not posting. Learned a lot about hrt from you all though! Frustratingly, the person who'd started that debate has recently been writing about how bad her anxiety is... Thanks for the welcome & good to see you here. x

Hi Poppy, Nice to have you here. How are you getting on with your HRT regime? Is your anxiety any better? I've had terrible anxiety myself so can empathise with you.

Hi Jenny Wren, Thanks for asking, been on this hrt regime since September & it's definitely the best so far.
Dr prescribed utrogestan orally, but for the last few months I've used it vaginally & seem ok - much better than when taking norethisterone, although I wonder if I could be absorbing too much this way.
Within a few days of stopping it, the anxiety seems worse, maybe it's a coincidence. Probably should mention it to my GP, although no doubt he'll tell me that it's not licensed to be taken this way in the UK!
Hi Warthog, nice to meet you too (can you give me a clue as to who you were?) Poppy x

Hi Poppy - good to see you've joined the "dark side"...lol...
I can empathise about the anxiety thing. Mine comes are a result of insomnia which I'm suffering from again because my patches don't seem to be working properly. It's a horrible feeling isn't it?

Hi Candy SO glad to see you're here! Really missed your informative posts. Picked the name as our dog Poppy died recently, felt pretty down as she'd been with us since the children were tiny. Later that day found the link here & really cheered me up- thought Poppy was a fitting tribute to her! xx

Hi Robyn, Thanks again for setting this up- trying to think of ways to get it 'out there.' Feeling fine again for the last few days & that's what I hate most about this anxiety- how I can turn from a positive fairly up-beat woman, into what seems like a nervous wreck! However, tell myself it's not going to last forever. Poppy x

Hi Warthog, nice to meet you too (can you give me a clue as to who you were?) Poppy x Was a member a long, long time ago, feel positively ancient just thinking about it. In fact I introduced one of the more 'very senior members' to the site. I left because I wanted to, actually needed to. Rejoined after awhile, but became a little hot under the collar about the way the site was (is) moderated and was chastised by the charming moderator for voicing my opinion. Had all my posts deleted too. All water under the bridge though ;) PS I remember, all too painfully well, the comments suggesting that mental health should not be discussed in depth on that site. A few of my (other) mental health issues arose when my body started going out of whack hormonely ... oh hang on, that was when I started being peri-MENOPAUSAL. Go figure! I came unstuck on the mental health discussion, too. I was told quite clearly in a pm that the forum wasn't the place for that discussion, and to join the mental health forum mentioned if I wanted to discuss these things. Like you, my "mental health" problems were the worst part of perimenopause, and I'd thought that it would be helpful to talk to others in the same boat! Gxx

Hi Poppy! I remember that thread on MM as well. I was recently diagnosed with an anxiety disorder but won't post about that here. Just wanted you to know you are in good company.

You are certainly very welcome to post about it if you want to. You can post it in the Other Health Issues section. We want to help and support all our members, rather than make then feel like a freak because of a health issue they have no control over.

I was slung off MM for being millitant by the old moderator Rik. I was asking why women couldn't obtain decent treatment from the NHs and suggesting petitioning the government. All of my posts were deleted because of my evil tongue lol Jacks

Hi
Yes anxiety is listed as a meno/peri symptom.
Its one of the main gripes on the 'other' forum too.
Its the worst one for me. Hoping it improves with HRT (4 months in).

Hi Everyone, Thanks for your support re anxiety, good to know that I'm not alone! (although obviously sorry that any of you have it too)
Candy, Poppy was a Newfoundland (black & white Landseer). We wanted a dog that would be good with our children & she really was a gentle giant- not a nasty bone in her body.
We've also got another little dog (well probably 'normal' size in comparison!) & I'm more of a cat person, so we have 3 of those too.
