Just back from the GP as have been having dizzines on & off for 6 weeks, bad headaches (vile) and fatigue.
BP is 175/105....am really worried.
She has given me Ramipril 5mg to start straight away & a load of blood test to be doen on Monday.
Any one have any experience of ramipril?

Hi Pinky
the blood tests are for iron, diabetes, thyroid, full blood count, glucose etc.
I took the ramipril last night...still woke up with massive headache today & bumping heart beat (thats new today so maybe the ramipril)
anxiety is high as hate taking anything really, always worry about side effects.

GP took me off the Ramipril last week...BP ws still high & was having really bad fatigue & palps on it.
Now on Felodipine (calcium channel blocker) 5mg per day.
Been on it a week now & have had coupel of blips with cant get off the sofa with exhaustion (not to go to sleep though) but is better than the ramirpil.
Hopefully this will get better with time on it??

Been back to GP for follow up since she changed drug to Felodipine 3 weeks ago. Original BP reading was 175/105 now its 143/83...am so pleased!!!! have also lost 7 pounds in a month as losing weight will help she says, though am not that overweight to start with. She says if it stays down consistently over 6 months she will look at taking me off the drug....so need to lose more weight & exercise more...my Little Jack will be happy with more walkies!!
