Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to learning from others' experience and sharing mine if it will be useful.
I'm nearly 50, still having periods, though irregularly. Started having severe fatigue and depression along with very heavy periods, about four years ago. Found out my iron and ferritine were very low and that I was hypothyroid. Gradually getting that sorted out with Erfa Thyroid and IV iron. Started using Progestogel 1% and Estradiol 0.6% two years ago, started Utrogestan 100 once a day (stopping from days 1 to 5 of month) a few months ago. Doctor just advised increasing Utrogestan to two and cutting back on estrogen a bit because of uterine fibroids.
I feel much better than a couple years back, was able to stop anti-depressants but still tired easily and increasing Utrogestan has played havoc with my periods. Just started again after having one two weeks ago, after a break of six weeks.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
