I'm writing a book about menopause and I am including some shocking facts. Why isn't menopause taken seriously? the answer is money in a way which many people might not have considered. Example in Britain osteoporosis affects 1 in 2 women not using hormones but treating osteoporosis is governed not by your doctor but NHS guidlines filtered down by European Directives governed by MEPs in Brussels and they say Vitamin D and calcum is the way forward. Hormones are not offered and alternative supplements are touted as natural and safer. However these remedies are not natural to the female body unless we suddenly have black cohosh in our blood stream. Checking it out quite a few gains are made by denying hormones. The alternative remedies industries are quids in with an added bonus of VAT - nice revenue for the governments and these meno remedies are expensive. Media says nothing because they can advertise these remedies but UK law forbids advertising hormones. Research into preventing menopause died a slow death with the huge amounts of money created by the IVF industry. Care homes benefit with 2 out of 3 occupants being frail females.Think of the employment created and the huge care home industry and revenue from expensive disability aids Many doctors specialise in illnessses often suffered by women in menopause. Orthaepedic doctors and those dealing with incontinence issues earn good money. Nice little earner menopause - ker ching!

Wow jacks - good for you. It's always been my ambition to write a book one day. I've written a number of short and medium length stories, but nothing as involved as what you're undertaking.

You know I think that the hormones should be freely available over the counter. We are adults and should have freedom of choice. Jacks
