I liked Livial too. It was the very first HRT I used and it worked quickly and really well for 9 months. I had a few very mild niggly headaches when I first started using it, but the GP assured me they would go away and they did after a month or so. I didn't even have any of the progesterone problems that I've had with all the other HRTs I've tried.
Unfortunately after 9 months it stopped working and I needed something stronger. I'm hoping that one day I might be able to go back to using it because then I could stop phaffing around with all the separate oestrogen and Utrogestan, and just take one tablet.

Can't speak for honeyb, but EVERYTHING felt great on Livial for me, although I have to admit I didn't really have the opportunity to test out the libido side of things.....lol..... I loved it. I just wish they made it in a higher dose because I'd beback on it like a shot.

Probably. When I started using it, it was almost 12 months since my last period, but the doctor based her decision on my symptoms and blood test results. It's regarded as a "low dose" so after about 9 months all my symptoms (insomnia and hot flushes came back) so she said I probably needed a higher dose, but stupid me decided I wanted to try a naturopath instead. Dumbest mistake I've every made.

Never thought of that at the time. I was still in my anti-HRT phase back then, so I didn't really give the GP any chance of discussing other options with me, because I really wanted to try the naturopath. Idiot!!
I've found that patches don't suit me. I don't absorb them properly. So for the time being using oestradiol tablets and Utrogestan is working sort of okay, although I've only been on the tablets for 2 weeks so I need to give it a bit more time to make sure they're working okay. If they don't it is an option I can talk to my GP about.

Sounds like it's for the best that you have given up on them, not much point if they were making you unhappy and putting on weight, you might have to go on a seperate oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone though to get the right results now.
Or maybe you can just take the testosterone on it's own ? That might give the desired effect.
I dont think it is like oestrogen that needs to be opposed by progesterone, you maybe able to take it as a stand alone product.
Good Luck with your appointment anyway and let us know how you get on.

Did you try utrogestan ? I don't think you will be allowed oestrogen without progesterone.
Just wondering could you try somekind of combination patch that has oestrogen & progesterone in it, there are only two brands Evorel and FemSeven, Evorel probably wouldn't suit as it has northisterone in it, but you might be able to tolerate FemSeven.
The only downside of a patch is they are not very attractive (although they are clear) as you put them on your bottom so not a sexy look if that sort of thing bothers you? But I put up with that for the symptom relief.
Maybe you will be able to cope on the testosterone alone as apparently it is not just good for libido but good for energy levels as well.
Fingers crossed for you hope they can sort something out.

Glad you are happy with your decision loveydovey. Just remembering how you gave it the hard sell to be when we were still on the dark side. I take it you have become fed up with being a nympthette ( I never got to that stage unfortunately ) xxxx

I think it sounds like you might benefit from somekind of low dose of testosterone if that is the effect that you are hoping for. There is no harm in asking for it, the worst that can happen is they say no, and some forward thinking gyneas may well say yes. Tell them your lack of sex drive is making you depressed but you don't want AD's to deal with it as you know they further kill of sex drive so a prescription for them would be self-defeating, and add to the problem rather than solve it.
