Just popped out - husband bought me some gorgeous amethyst earrings as a belated Birthday present. Anyhow popped in Oxfam bookshop and I browsed through a couple of the horrid menopause books. Why do those "embrace menopause" books always recommend revolting types of food like tofu and soy? Why do they always try and flog every over priced over rated supplement known to woman Why do they tell you just to use products to colour the scalp to hide baldness Why do they act as though vitamin E is a cure for VA Why do they recommend nasty over priced wicked nightwear for bed ( I only wear Jewellery when I'm asleep) Why are the female authors so F"""""" smug

Sounds like a fabulous present Jacks.
Maybe it's because their books have made them wads of cash which enable them to see the best private gynaes & have hormones compounded especially for them?

I love the sound of the earrings Jacks.
The SBs (smug bitches) always piss me right off. They're just trying make money out of women who have had the bejesus scared out of them about HRT and are desperate to find something "natural" that will work. Been there done that - got the tshirt. None of that crap will work. What's even worse is a male telling a woman to "embrace" menopause.
I always hope that karma will get the SBs and that when menopause hits them they will have such a horrible time of it that they will go screaming to the closest GP for HRT.

I'm quite intrigued by the "natural" approach promoted by these books, like I'm intrigued by mystery stories. If this stuff was so effective we'd all be taking it and the companies producing hormones would go bust!

Exactly - and you wouldn't be paying a fortune for the stuff either. I went to a naturopath for 3 months and it cost me AU$3,000. Was I an idiot or what? (don't answer that...lol...)
