I just felt the need to say may Tony Nicklinson now rest in peace as his 'wish' to die has been granted......
No doubt it was heart wrenching for his family to watch him suffer and I admire Tony for his determination to try to get his case across.
I would just like to say I wish his family peace in the knowledge that Tony is now where he wanted to be and may he be up there with the angels.
I know that most have their own views on voluntary euthanasia but just felt I wanted to post this.
Hope it is OK to do so, and hope I have put it in the correct part of the forum.

It is so strange and sad. It seems if you want to die the state opposes it whereas a year ago today my father died from sepsis because the hospital enforced the Liverpool Care Path Way (state euthanasia ) with family opposition.

It is very sad for the family. Sepsis was on my father's death certificate. It was awful watching him fade away. Today must be very hard for you Jacks.  |

It isn't easy they pt him on the LCP on my birthday just over a year ago and the weekend arrived and couldn't get hold of a consultant or legal bod to put i a challenge. I didn't speak to my father for many yearfs but I was disgusted.

Not doing too bad ladies - a bit short tempered but placed third in a poker tourney the other day. I really feel for the family of Tony Nickleson

It is such an emotive subject. My mum in law had a 14 year battle with alzheimers she was diagnosed at 57 so I empathise with his family. My partner has told me if he gets it he wants to go to switzerland to dignitas he doesnt want to suffer. I am praying I never have to do this.

His wife and daughter were on national television news last night. They seemed like very nice people. How hard must this have all been for them a brave man supported by a brave family.
