Because I hate seeing blank spots against topics on the main menu, I thought I would start a thread in this section.
I'm not sure how much experience our regular posters have with hysterectomies. I know one of our members is a "hyster-sister", but she must be a bit too busy to post at the moment.
Anyway, when I was having so much trouble with my prog intolerance I did briefly wonder if having a hyster would end up being my only answer, although I was very scared about the other problems that can come with this kind of surgery. Fortunately I didn't end up having to go down that track, and hopefully I won't have to in the future.

im 17 months post op total hyst and bso at the age of 39. Struggled immensly to find the right balance of oestrogen ever since...i muts have tried around 9 or ten different types and doses and currently im on sandrena whilst i wait for my oestrogen levels to drop from an implant. Implant didnt suit me...it took 6/7 weeks to kick in then i absorbed the whole lot overnight
testo helps though, although if use more than half a petit pois size i get anxiety (and i dont mean general worrying, i mean a panicky feeling)...i always thought i had anxiety pre op but post op the anxiety can be something else...its my least like meno symptom and usually means (for me anyway) that my levels are fluctuating. x

My late mother had a hysterectomy and woke up minus her ovary as the female gynaecologist said she didn't ned it - immediate surgical menopause and I forced her to see GP and get Premarin. Jacks
