I posted about these capsules on another forum and promptly got my bottom smacked for posting a link to a commercial site, but I don't intend smacking my own bottom on my own forum, so I will damn well post it here - because I can....lol...... These capsules can be bought online from America and they are said to help promote sleep. I bought a bottle a while ago, but was pretty sceptical about them, because I’ve never found anything “natural” that would help with my insomnia. The only thing that would help me was prescribed sleeping medication. However, I have found that these “Sleep Mineral” capsules do definitely help with sleeplessness. I don’t find them that helpful if I’m having full-on raging hormonal insomnia, but if my sleep isn’t too bad, but I either just have some trouble dropping off or I wake in the middle of the night I have found them to be quite helpful, probably more as a relaxation thing. So, I think they’re definitely worth giving a go, and certainly better than relying on drugs, if they work for you. They’re basically just a magnesium/calcium combination, but they have been formulated to be absorbed really quickly, so they are quite safe to take. They’re not that expensive either (US$19.95 + postage) and you get 100 capsules per bottle so they last quite a while. www.nutritionbreakthroughs.com/html/sleep_remedy_for_insomnia_help.html

ps.... I've just tried clicking on the "order" link because I'm wanting to order another bottle, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment (well not for me anyway). Maybe they are just having some website issues. Hopefully they will be up and running again soon.
pps.... just tried it again and got this message.... so they will be back soon.

Hi Susan I got mine from Boots, you can get the daytime one, but I got the Night one....I felt it working after 3-4 days. I just put a couple of squirts on each leg just before bed. It can tingle a bit at first if your mag levels are low. Mine did the first night, but it went off after half hour or so. Its called Better For You Magnesium Oil Spray Night. Stumpy xx

Thanks for the link Rambo. Susan I also use the magnesium oil from time to time. You can buy it online, but is now stocked in Boots. Here's the brand: www.betteryou.uk.com/Magnesium-Oil-Original-SprayIf you google magnesium oil, many sites promote one made by 'Ancient Minerals' - but this brand is much more expensive. As Stumpy says, it can tingle a bit, which I believe suggests that one is short of magnesium. Think I mentioned somewhere else that mine tingled a lot- I'd been spraying it on all over after a bath! (& I don't want to relive the occasion when I mistook the bottle for a saline nasal spray- thought my brain was on fire ) xx

Thanks Poppy, I do remember this being talked about in a previous life I think, I am losing track of who is who ( not even sure who I am some of the time ) so not sure if it was with yourself. Rather bizarrely I am having a bit of success at the moment with couple of ancient relaxation tapes that OH found when he was going through a load of old cassettes with a view to chucking them out, so am feeling fairly pleased with that. My sleep problem is not being able to get off to sleep in the first place, the type of insomnia where you can't switch your brain off and feel like you have drunk 20 espressos at 11pm. xxxx Opps sorry Stumpy not ignoring you. Haven't tried anything as yet due to having a bit of luck with the tapes Just waiting for them to inravelled in the equally ancient tape player, that would be just my luck, but can't work out how to digitalise them. They are well old twenty five years maybe ! xxxx

I have no idea unfortunately, about 30 years ago my hubbie worked with a guy who had Chronic insomnia and this guy said I have just the thing for your Mrs and he kindly taped a tape he used. So I am clueless as to their provenance. What makes it worse is that one side of the tape has two 15 min relaxation sessions and I am sure the other side did as well, but we seem to have overtaped one side when my son was Learning to read so it has him reading out loud to us I'm sure there is loads of this stuff around that i could down load onto an IPod , but these two seem to be doing the trick at the moment. I think it helps to use the same ones again and again as then you are so familiar with them that you are not actively trying to listen to the wording and you relax better xxxx

Yes it was nice Poppy.
I think what I am going to do, is sit there and write all the words down and then google them and see if it brings up a link to something and then I can work out if there are downloads of the identical one to go on my Ipod.
The voice of the guy is actually very soporific so it would be good if I could get the exact same one.
That said last night although i got off to sleep easily I then woke early was awake for yonks and then dropping back off when it was time to get up. Doh !
