It may be conincidence, but I have a tight chest now most days since HRT started around 4 months ago. GP gave me ventolin inhaler for it which i try not to use. I was very chesty as a child & used to use an inhaler back then, but hadnt used one since I was 20yrs old. Am on Femoston 1/10, is going really well with it, still settling though I think. Period have returned too. Anyone else have a bit of a bad chest, or is it coincidence that this happened now? the ever fretful for now.... Stumpy xx

I didn't have anything like this when I was on Femoston, Stumpy.
I would hope it is coincidence - if you had chest problems when you were a child I guess that the stress has brought it on.

As you know Stumpy I was on the Conti version of Femoston for 15 or so months before I defected to HRT patches. I didn't have this at all as a side effect. My gut feeling is that it's more to do with your anxiety, I'm sure that could be causing this sort of breathless feeling. I may be out of order here but I would say if you need to use the Ventolin I wold do so, my understanding is that they are mainly water ( does that sound right ?) I am embarrassed that I don't know this as DD is asthmatic and been using them for 16 years. It's the Beccatide inhaler that is the one with the steroid in it I believe. I was given Ventolin inhalers at the end of one of my pregnancies as I am tiny and the baby was big for me and pushing up unto my lungs ( so they told me, doesn't sound right now though). I was getting really breathless and they gave me some inhalers to use. Me and said baby are still around to tell the tale many year down the line. xxxx i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa394/Cybe2005/smiley-happy065.gif [/IMG]

Hi Susan Maybe is me & my buddy anxiety. When I first wake in the mornings am fine, but starts creeping in within an hour or so. Soem days am fine. Things are getting better though with HRT so am sticking with it. If you remember over at the coven, i had a good old moan about breast pain when I started HRT? You said you try not to add anything to the mix? Well, i took that on board & havent added anything else as regards anything hormonal, EPO, vitamins etc. Breast pain is now gone after first few months, like you said it would. I expect things to happen straight away, and now relaise with HRT its a ongoing thing for a good while yet. Stumpy xx

I am so pleased that your breast achys have gone stumps. My GP said your boobs will ache for three or four months when she put me on my first HRT ( she probably took one look at me and thought this women hasn't had any oestrogen for years, this is gonna be a shock to her system ) It was Kliofem as well which was 2 mgs of oestrogen, so I had big time achys. But I tend to go for the view that it is probably best to introduce one thing at a time if possible and monitor it for six months. I didn't want to dash out and buy a gallon of starflower capsules to take as well. I kind of like to be in tune with my own body and see how it responds to things. To me the starflower oil thingys would have masked what the HRT was doing. I guess I am a tortoise rather than a hare. xxxx
