Hi Ladies
Ive had back, neck, shoulder aches for a little while on & offf since startign HRT 4 (ish) months ago.
Well this morning I jumped in the shower & while washing 'ouch'.
On my right side on bone at top between collar bone & top of arm...there is a tiny pea size bobble inside on the bone that really hurts to touch. Think its just appeared over night. It under the skin, its not a spot. Its attached to the bone (ssems to be), moves but is attached. Really painful.
I have a appt to see GP in 2 weeks (like rocking horse p** getting a appt).
Any ideas??

Wild stab in the dark here, but some sort of cyst maybe ? Try not to let your inpmagination go wild - I know that is easier said than done.

I'm glad your panics are getting less Stumpy, I think that you maybe do have some kind of anxiety that is related to oestrogen deficiency. I'm sure you will remember me saying this from when we were on the dark side together, but I honestly believe that you can expect slow and steady improvements over the course of a twelve month period when you start on HRT. All those decades ago when HRT was developed they were only really concentrating on developing a product to get rid of hot flushes and night sweats. Not the more subtle impacts that lack off oestrogen cause. But I think that those that have the patience to stick with it for months and years, recover a lot of things that they lose as their (particularly oestrogen) hormone levels first start to fluctuate wildly in peri and then ultimately drop to a consistently low level once post menopause. more for you. I missed you when they booted you off the mother ship xxxx

Definitely good to see the doctor about it, but it maybe it could be some calcification. I get a lot of that in my shoulders because of all the years of computer work I've done.
Every so often it will really flare up and I can't move my arm for a few days until it settles down. I can't really explain how it all works, but the physio basically told me that you get the most pain from it when the body is either laying down or taking away the calcium which it does on a regular cycle - or something like that.
However, I haven't had as much of a problem since I stopped taking calcium supplements, which can aggravate this condition.

Hi Robyn MY OH may be right in saying that I'm just getting old. Problem is for me that all these things seem to have happened over the course of a couple of months. The old saying "aged over night" seems to be true for me!! Am having trouble accepting I think. Up until the last 2yrs, I very rarely had so much as a sniffle. The peri hit me & now all these aches & pains. Stumpy xx

ha ha ha the mothership.... Its the coven. I am never going to type the two 'real words, next to each other again stumps. I am not going to be responsible for keeping it at the top of google. That is where Menopause Support International should be. At least you have set up a Doctors appointment to go and get it looked at. Peri menopause seems to bring with it an endless compulsion to go to the doctors. I don't think I went to the GP more that 5 times from age 20 to 42/43 . Peri hit and they were my new best friends, I'm embarrassed to say. I guess that was when I started falling apart lol, only thing was I hadn't even heard of peri, so everything I got I thought was some new and wondrous disease. xxxx
