I do sympathise Lainey it's horrible to be overcome with crashing fatigue. It could be a dip in your hormones I guess, glad you are able to get a little nap sounds like it re- energises you. Bit like a power nap that some people talk about. I'm a bad sleeper and have Fibromyalgia as well which can be accompanied by fatigue so I know it's difficult to deal with. It sounds silly but I find it annoying. xxxx

Me too I think that is why I find it annoying, things do change sometimes though I seem to be going through a phase where it comes on at about 6 pm, which seems such an odd time. If I am sitting down relaxing its all I can do to stop nodding off. But if I let myself go to sleep I would then later be awake until 2am, so I have to fight it.

I went through a phase of feeling like that a few years ago when I was in peri menopause. It got so bad I went to the doctor convinced something was wrong with me so she did some blood tests and everything came back fine. Looking back I think it was the lead up to the menopause. It lasted for a few years and now two years post menopause I find I have a lot more energy. I remember I used to have to lie down on the bed a half a dozen times a day. I would not actually sleep but I found just resting gave me the strength to carry on. It was a horrible feeling of bone crashing fatigue and exhaustion and it used to come on several times a day.

My biggest joy (pre meno) was to have a nap on a Sunday afternoon. I could have a really lovely snooze for as much as a couple of hours and still have a really good night's sleep.
Alas those days are way in the past now. Now I'm scared that if I give in to an afternoon nap, I definitely won't sleep that night. How I long for the day I might be able to resume my afternoon zzzzzzzzzz. Maybe I'll have to wait until I'm 80 though......
