Lainey If I don't know my stuff I am at the mercy of doctors and that idea doesn't appeal. I have educated my GP about it. Jacks xx

Thank you for posting this Jacks. I had a quick scan but feels it deserves a proper reading so will come back to it when I have more time. It's good to have someone on here that searches these kinds of articles out or us and posts them for those that are interested.

Cancer research has dismissed the study and they work closely with the NHS. Who was responsible for The Million Women Study - the government and Cancer Research headed by Valerie Beral . Jacks

Bella This sounds good but it isn't quite true that it is general practitioners being slow. My physiotherapist told me that many specialists in my area just refuse to prescribe HRT even vaginal estrogen. She says I'm her only patient using hormones and she has referrals from gynaecologists. I think there is an NHS culture of not prescribing HRT unless pushed. I recall my sister going through premature menopause aged 36 and her doctor threw her a pack of Prempro and said that was all she was getting and only for ten years maximum. Jacks

I have been doing my bit by talking about hormones to every doctor I have seen. My own GP admits he knows nothing about hormones so I said to him " menopause affects 50% of the population - don't you think it is time you understood it" and he laughed and conceded the point. To be fair I have taken him in articles and he has even asked me questions. Jacks
