I have just started Hrt i am on Elleste Duet 1mg also i am on Cerazette mini pill how many of you are on both do you think it is a good idea i am worried to stop mini pill because of heavy periods i am 42 years old

Hi Becky First question - are you happy with your regime? If you are free from symptoms and the mini pill is helping then carry on as you are.Elizabeth Vliet in her book Screaming To Be Heard writes about use of the pill during peri menopause. POP can be useful for keeping the endometrium thin. I don't use the mini pill myself but do use hormones. I think what you are doing is perfectly safe. But if it is not having a good effect there are many alternatives. Jacks

I have been on the mini pill for four months only started Hrt yesterday the doctor said i can carry on taking the mini pill with hrt i wondered how many of you do both not sure what to do carry on mini pill or just have the Hrt

You probably do not require a combined HRT and just need estradiol which can be given by patch, gel or pill.The mini pill should prevent endometrial build up Jacks

I think you might do better just using your HRT otherwise you may find you have too much progestin. You can alwayds return to the mini pill if necessary. Jacks
