I like to take a bath with epsom salts and maybe have a glass of wine or a bit of cognac. I soak. It's not about washing per se, it's more about the soaking. I also make sure I moisturize my body and my face once out of the bath. I take my time and do everything slowly. I find this helps me unwind and relax me.

I try to remember to breathe correctly cos when I am stressed cos I definitely start hyperventilating which makes me feel even worse.
I also do what Menocholoy does - I pace myself and have little lie downs on my bed between chores.
I also find that being horizontal does calm me down and I feel all my muscles relax.
Staring out the window at the garden and the wild birds helps calm me down or going for a long solitary walk. The first few minutes I usually feel tense but after ten minutes or so I find the rhythmic pace of my feet calming. Same with music.
I also find cuddling my baby parrot calming too well apart from when he decides to give me an over enthusiastic friendly nip!
Reading or watching a film or having a chat with a friend. Anything that takes my mind of myself helps me. Although sometimes when I feel highly stressed I find talking tiring sometimes.

Retail therapy, reading or a few hands of poker. I'm very bad at chilling out - in the summer I enjoy a swim in the sea. Jacks
