Hi Lainey First...... I know exactly what you mean!!! I have 'friends' who roll eyes at me when I am having a down time. I am the first of us to start meno (peri)...I want to be a fly on the wall when they start (awful to think like that but they all seem to think its in my mind). I am on HRT but still sometimes get so anxious, sick, cant sleep that it feels like whats the point. Are you on any form of HRT? Stumpy xx

Hi ladies, I am getting so down with this pathetic menopause carryon. I am taking 30-40 flushes a day just now and they are getting so severe. Night sweats are back and im just fed up with it all. I see posts online stating " embrace the change" and how i sailed through menopause and really its a load of rubbish. How on earth can this be embraced? How can woman continue to be so up and down and suffer constantly? As you can Prob tell i have had enough and needed it off my chest!!! Lainey Lainey Why should anyone embrace this heap of crap? women are being taken for mugs. The money spent on IVF could easily be used for research into preventing menopause but because IVF is a big earner they don't bother. Women vote but never has anyone actively campaigned for research to stop this obscene nonsense which is so damaging to the health. Teresa Gorman (ex conservative MP) kicked up merry hell in the house of commons and all she got was sniggering and I add this was from other females and not just men. The menopause industry is huge and there are many jobs and large amounts of money involved as my book will explain when husband finishes tidying it up. Jacks xxxx

Men aren't stupid like women. Women think there is a virtue in sufffering this nonsense. I have spoken to a number of male friends and if they attempt to discuss menopause with their other halfs -they get a stony silence. My husband appeared in MM magazine talking about how horrendous menopause is. He is aware because I discuss it openly. But while women clam up they will be taken advantage of - the worst thing is that women are doing this to other women. Jacks xx

Hi Lainey You have us & we know exactly how you feel!!! & you certainly arent a whinger!! They would soon find a 'cure' if a man had to have one day of what we put up with. Before HRT I would be insane one min, ok the next etc etc...throughout the day up, down, happy sad, in pain, not in pain. Vile vile vile. Of late, feel like am slipping back a bit, even though HRT hasnt stopped everything anyway, it has helped a lot. But giving another month, then may have to increase. I really feel for you..and sounds like you have a star hubby trying to help you all he can. Quite difficult for partners sometimes as they feel unable to help. I had a young 'female' GP say to me..."I dont think you need to go HRT route...its only 6 months of sweats" I laughed in her face!!! I cant believe another woman & GP!!! thinking this way. Please dont think you are whinging!! You should be in my house when I am low!!! am the champ!!! Stumpy xx

I hd a female gynaecologist tell me I only needed ovestin for three months so I asked her if the vagina magically rejuvenated itself - silence then she wrote a repeat prescription. A male gynaecologist told me just to use a cold lubricating gel so I asked him if he would like his manhood to shrivel up - at this point he put his hands up and admitted women got fobbed off by the NHS. If women are not bolshy we will be shoved off without hormones and lubrication gels to make us capable for penatrative sex. Jacks

It all came as such a shock to me. Nobody told me I was going to lose my pubes, gain weight, have aching joints, and don't get me started on VA! Why aren't all women invited to a Menopause Clinic? Women need to know what is coming and be prepared. Information! Women need information and educated doctors. Grrrrrr. And what about that smug stupid nurse who told me she had remained the same weight her whole life? I felt like slapping her smug face when she asked me why I had gained weight. Grrrrrrrr. Arrrrgggg. If it were not for the joys of the Internet I would be none the wiser about all of this. All the information I have gained about menopause has come from websites and forums like this. Lainey I do feel for you having to go through all of this at such a relatively young age. I was having the time of my life at your age. You are certainly not whinging. You have every right to feel pissed off and cheated and robbed of your vitality by meno. Keep posting any time you feel the need to get things of your chest. We certainly understand.

Enough is enough. Women of all ages are being crippled and having their quality of life destroyed by menopause. This is completely unacceptable and down to the politics of medical care. I have heard heart rending stories - my grandmother remarried a widower who had found his first wife with her head in the gas oven together with that of their young daughter. This mindless cruel nonsense is sanctioned by society because women view themselves as second raters who expect to "suffer at menopause" I know Lainey won't be offended when I say it is unacceptable for a female of any age to suffer the devastating effects of menopause. For myself I never liked the idea of experiencing hypogonadism and thought that by the time it reached me there would be a cure. This did not happen and I was fortunate to have access to money to fund treatment. It is very two tier these days with those who go privately obtaining treatment the NHS and society like to withhold as unnecessary and expensive compared to anti depressants and statins. The media also have vested financial interests from the advertisers of alternative junk remedies - so promote scare stories about hormones. I uncovered some fascinating and frightening information while researching my book. Jacks

the media, cancer charities, alternative remedies brigade and the NHS all have an interest in the menopause industry - not to mention care homes where women outnumber men by 2 to 1. It creates a large amount of employment , the government collect VAT from the purchasing of quack remedies. The big studies were widely publicised and caused the NHS to advise restricting HRT to five years. The Danish study published earlier this year refuted previous ones but official advice from NHS not updated and the minister for health has remained silent. Menopausal suffering is a huge silent industry and nobody wants to cure the female geese providing the hormone deficient ovaries. Jacks
