Hi
On thursday morning i started my period, as i got out of bed was very light headed. shook it off, but an hour later as was walking round the bed, i fainted, big like electric shock in head and was over....was so scared as was on own, luckily i could reach the phoen to call my hubby to come home.
Took me to docs, who gave me stemitil. Dont seem to be helping much & anxiety is through the roof which maybe isnt helping.
Any advice woudl be appreciated.
A very scared Stumpy xx

Sorry to hear this, it sounds really scary! Maybe your blood pressure was very low? I'm also very dizzy today ( got my period yesterday too) and I think my BP is extremely low, because I'm so very tired. I was also very anxious till yesterday, but today I feel calm. When I was a young girl, I fainted few times in the school while having the period, so I can imagine how you feel. Did the doctor have some explanation? Get well soon!

Hi
The GP took my BP & it was high, but i was VERY anxious by this point.
Still light headed & anxious today.
Am on Femoston 1/10, I am seeing my own GP next week, do you think an increase to 2/10 may help.
Am so scared of hubby going back to work on Monday.
xx

Hi stumpy, Did you increase your dose? Stumpy I started off on 2 pumps a day but increased to 3 myself then gradually got upto 5 a day which is what I'm on now. I have been on the gel for around 2 years. I have never needed to increase my progesterone as I have always been on a high dose of that anyway until recently where I was using 20mg a day after my coil came out. I am using cyclogest now and appear to get on well with them so far :-) If you feel comfortable increasing your hrt a little then you should do it. Does your gp check your hormones levels? Lainey xx Lainey, are you using 5 pumps of gel also during your period?

Hi rusalka, Although I still have my womb I don't take periods. I had my ovaries and tubes out 4 years ago due to a faulty cancer gene and was given an option of having a period or not and I opted not to so I take my hrt the full month as opposed to on a cycle. That is why I'm concerned that I have bled basically since aug last year. I had a scan last tue and prof is sending me for a hysterscopy and womb ablation and biopsy to see whats causing all this bleeding. Oh, I see, I'm sorry. Lainey xx

Hi Well went to see my own GP tonight. BP was better than last week (morning i fainted it was high at 185/97) anxiety level was through the roof, so maybe that was why it was high. She doesnt want to increase me to the Femoston 2/10 due to Mum & Dad dying at 32 & 50 respectively. Mum at 32 of coronary thrombosis & dad at 50 of heart attack. She thinks the dizzy/faint was due to starting period that morning & progesterone can make you dizzy?? Says to take Stemitil as & when. Stumpy xx

Have you thought of trying beta blockers for anxiety and your blood pressure. The latest research suggests HRT is beneficial for cardio vascular health. Jacks
