Hi
Ive been on Femoston 1/10 for nearly a yr and feel worse int he last few months than i did before i started it.
GP wont increase me to 2/10 as lost both parents very young to heart conditions.
I really feel that its the HRT not suiting me to be honest. Feel i have swapped all the pre HRT problems for another set, which are worse.
How difficult is it to come off HRT? Can I just stop or do i need to phase it out? Will i have any initial effects from stopping?

Hi Lainey
Thanks for your reply x
I know I am maybe over reacting....scared of the hysical probs with it at the moment, but scared of how i might feel off it too.
Been so dizzy last few weeks, mornings are worst..scared with it.

Stumpy I went through periods of dizziness and I don't think it is to do with HRT. I was told it is a reaction with the hormone Aldosterone which is connected with fluctuating blood pressure and flushes. It has to be your decision but personally I found a low dose of beta blocker helped stop the dizziness and by the sound of your symptoms raising your estradiol might help. You could try Oestrogel - many of us enjoy the versatility of it. Jacks xx

Stumpy - have you tried patches + separate progesterone? different delivery may suit you better, before you throw in the towel with HRT.
I've come off twice before and did it cold turkey (patches) - initially felt okay then after about two weeks all symptoms returned in a tidal wave - but we're all different.
I have experienced the dizziness and vertigo migraine, very scary.
Lately I've been that fed up with meno, I've resorted to something I don't really believe in but I'll try anything, me - homeopathy! And surprisingly, I've had good results with one particular remedy. Only been using it for two days but how I've felt has been encouraging but I'll reserve judgment for later.
Transdermal is often better tolerated, maybe something you would think about if you're scared to come off. I'm currently on ultra low - half of 25mg patch.

It's difficult when a GP has advised you one thing, but personally I have felt better since upping the dosage of Oestrogel slightly. It is very easy to tweak how much you use and I obviously don't want to tempt fate, but my headaches have been much reduced also. Its a bit more of a faff than taking tablets or using patches I guess, but worth it in the long run. I also don't seem to have problems with utrogestan although I am not using it as prescribed. I guess only you can make the decision, but not sure I would be prepared to give it up without exhausting some other options first.
