Yesterday I was still very anxious, although the period has stopped, so I just made a try- I took one capsule Utrogest, oral after the dinner. After one hour I noticed a switch in my mood- less and less anxious, more and more relaxed, the permanent knot in my stomach disappeared. I was also very nervous about the pituitary tests today in the hospital, but I went totally calm to bed! I don't know if this is just coincidentally, or maybe low progesterone is the main cause for my anxiety, or it's just so that estrogen needs progesterone to work for me? Today I woke up only mild nervous, without the anxious knot in my stomach and even during the examination at the hospital I didn't get the anxiety! The only thing I notice is that I feel somehow sad and I could cry easily. This could also be because of the huge stress during the tests. Or maybe progesterone itself? If I knew that progesterone is the key to get rid of the anxiety, I would take it for 3 weeks in the cycle, not only 12 days, but if P is making me depressed, anxiety is a minor problem compared to depression... What do you think? My other gyno told me ( she is a woman) that Utrogest COULD make us depressed, ( it's also written on the package leaflet) but her boss ( male) said to me that progesterone is actually a mood elevator. So, who has right? Sigh...

Rusalka Like you I have thyroid disease. I also use extra progesterone just before period and it is immensely helpful. Jacks

Day before yesterday I was anxious again, so I took a half of the capsule in the evening and today I again feel good, almost zero anxiety. The only catch is that I suspect P makes me depressed after few days.. And this is even bigger crap as the anxiety

Thank you Pinky! Yes, it helps! I think I will try one more cycle on "my" regime: 14 days Utrogest with one capsule( 100mg) little bit squeezed, so the dose is about 50-80 mg daily vaginal. If my lining was o.k. on this regime and if I forget the theory about the estrogen dominancy, then I can't do much wrong..And I do have regular transvaginal scans. It's just agains the recommendation of my doc, who wants me to take 200 mg daily for 12 days..
