Ladies, do you have an idea why I have those pains, specially in the hips and pelvic bones? During sport ( walking) I feel those pains even more as usual. I have these pains since few years, so I think it has to be hormonal. I have good vitamin D levels, bone density measurement was also o.k., I'm slim, so I can't find some other reason. Could be too low estrogen? Or too low progesterone? ( this is what my GP said..) Due to those pains many times I feel like an old granny and I avoid sport which is worsening the pains.. xx

Yep I think I did read somewhere that the lack of hormones can cause joint pains. In fact I have seen joint pains listed in many menopause symptoms sites I have googled over the years. I also get aching hips and pelvis. In fact all my bones feel like they need a good oiling at times. I sometimes feel creaky all over. When I stand up sometimes I hear my knees cracking. The joys of getting older!

From what I have read I gather it is low estrogen that causes aching bones and joints. I took myself a long walk today and have come back with aching feet and one aching big toe!

And I was yesterday trying my new running shoes and today my whole body is aching like I'm 80 years old :-) From what I have read I gather it is low estrogen that causes aching bones and joints. I took myself a long walk today and have come back with aching feet and one aching big toe!

DHEA helps with joint pain - women need a low dose of about 10 mg daily. Also estradiol helps collagen - if your estradiol is too low collagen will be adversely affected. Jacks

Jacks, my estrogen levels were in March 190 pmol/L (using 2.5 pumps Estrogel), now I'm on 3.5 pumps. These E levels are probably still low, what do you think?
