Estrdot patch 100, Ustrogestan 100 and Testim tubes - advice

Hi All 

I'm new here so here goes.

I've been diagnosed with Premature ovarian failure and had an horrendous couple of years.

3 months ago I was put on Estrodot patch and this is now 100 mg.

I said (to a very horrified Dr) that I wanted a bleed so she put me on 2 x Ustrogestan 100 mg for first 12 days of the month.

In the last two weeks I've also started on Testosterone gel.

Anyway - woke up this morning with v painful period pain. I wasn't expecting this from a 'bleed.'  In a way I was happy to have it.

Does anyone else have a similar regime to mine above?

Sorry if this seems naive on my part - I have been laughed at, screeched at and of course not listened to by so many drs that now when I go to see them I get v anxious.  I try to make some notes of what's going on but with the exception of one dr they just don't make anything clear to me.  

So I'd appreciate it if you have any comments on the above?  Is this a 'normal' programme for them to offer.

A hostile or patronising attitude from medical people is not unusual I'm sorry to say. I started with a gynaecologist recommending menopace. Vitamins for a hormone deficiency duh! I can however recommend raspberry tea capsules for period pain - also a tiny dose of aspirin several days before expected bleed will block prostaglandins and ease pain triggered by them. Your regime sounds standardised - I recommend you get copies of hormone solution Thierrry Hertoghe and Super Woman Uzzi Reiss.

Thank you so much - this has really helped. I didn't know what to do or who to ask.

This all kicked off when I was 41 - I just didn't think and don't accept that I am now post menopausal. I had wanted a family and to carry a child.

My sister also suffered POF triggered by auto immune disease. I really feel for you - diagnosis of early menopause can be devastating if you haven't finished your family and society is so cavalier about it.
