HI
Been advised to post a question here.
I am on Femeston 1/10 & months 3 & 4 i have leg pains/boen ache in legs during the progesterone part of the HRT.
Also those 2 months are the first time I have had a period since December, which have both lasted 14 days.
Does anyoen else have any issues like this?

Stumpy I know something about progesterone because I am in contact with Professor Howard Bird who deals with Ehlers Danlos patients and he says progesterone weakens the ligaments which can cause pain, clumsiness, buckling of ankles etc also that is why acid reflux is more likely during progesterone phase. Jacks.

Hi
Got new script for Femoston 2/10 will start it on Sunday when due to start new pack.
She says that leg cramps are a side effect of hormone replacement & it should dwindle.

Hi Stumpy
Hope you get on better with the higher dose Femoston. I was on Femoston 2/20 (as I needed the extra progesterone) and had no problems during the Oestrogen phase of the pills. I'm glad that your GP has reassured you about the leg cramps being a known side effect.

Thanks Its odd that I have my period on 2nd day of the progesterone part which last for 12 days, as soon as I go onto estrogen only part it stops....then i get PMT/anxiety. I didnt have a period since December & only 4 last yr. None for first 2 months of HRT. I hope they eventually get down to the 5-7 days i used to be. its like the progesterone makes me start & lasts till i stop taking it...not good. Stumpy xx

Blimey that looks lovely Candy.... OO now you hav me thinking about the way the tablets are taken... I have just taken the first one of the new 2/10 Femoston...I have taken the red one first...section 1 of the pack??? OMG...but am sure thats what it means to take the section 1 ones first estrogen only... GP didnt seem that interested when i told her....said as long as its regular & you dont bleed at any other time. Must say am bit upset as have starte dot feel a bit more fruity but am now restricted to 2 weeks a month...almost as bad as before HRT when i didnt have a period, but felt rubbish most of the time. Now am feeling better still can get down to it so to speak. Stumpy xx

Yes, that's the right way round, Stumpy! Hopefully you will settle down now you are on the higher oestrogen dose. It took me a few months on Femoston before I got into a "regular" bleed cycle. From what I remember it was usually around half way through the progesterone part. You may just need to be patient and give your system a while to get used to it - and don't worry!

Hi Candy
Ok (I think)
I started the 2/10 on Sunday last, but my OH has been rushed into hospital on Friday so to be honest I havent had time to think (maybe half the problem i dwell on it too much).
They prepped him for surgery last night, but surgeon wasnt happy, wanted a CT scan before he 'goes in', so am hoping that happens today.
Had a hellish 2 days and nights weds/thurs as he was in lot of pain & wouldnt let me call anyone to see him...MEN!! mine is such a bloke!!! he isnt in pain now as on lots of medication in the hospital so am glad he isnt hurting. I flipped on Friday mornign & called GP out against my OH wishes...and sent him straight in.

am very scared, and so tired but have to keep going. Just having half hour respite on here to be honest, this feels more normal here than anything else at the moment. We need more funnies on the funnies section!!
